Welcome to ID2

The Instructional Design and Development Team is here to help you. As a part of the UTSA Center for Distance Learning & Academic Technology, we have access to the latest in distance learning innovations.

What we Do

We work collaboratively with faculty, staff, other departments at the university and beyond with the design, development and implementation of online courses and supplemental materials. We actively participate in the development of training materials for faculty, staff, and students. We insure that all materials are accessible to a variety of users.

Through collaboration with other DLAT staff members we design engaging and effective instructional materials. We assist in the development of course materials that are functional, intuitive, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles.

We develop and provide recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments, and the design of course materials and activities. We continually explore new technologies for potential application to instructional issues.

"Online Instruction is more than a series of readings posted to a web site; it requires deliberate instructional design that hinges on linking learning objectives to specific learning activities and measurable outcomes" -- Diana G. Oblinger & Brian Hawkins from The Myth about Online Course Development.
